Charlene entered her first improv class at Westside in early 2018 expecting to be totally out of her depth. Instead, she found a supportive, encouraging community that consistently responds with “yes, and…”. She discovered that performers are funniest when their scenes reflect real-life experiences and emotions, of which she has many. Most importantly, Charlene treasures the opportunity at Westside to escape from everyday life into a world of imagination and play.
During the day, Charlene is a project-based learning coach and facilitator. In these roles, she guides teachers and students through the process of facing messy uncertainty in their quest to develop possible solutions to difficult, real-world problems.
