Intro to Improv (Level 1)

Don’t let cold weather get you down! Time to take an improv class!

Take this class.

Need to turn your “nos” into “yeses?” Your doubts into confidence? Does your significant other ever ask “ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?” Then you MUST take our Intro to Improv (“The 8 Week Class”).  It teaches you all the improv essentials:

  • agree, add and build

  • conquer fears

  • work collaboratively in an accepting environment

  • develop active listening

  • form connections with your partners

Give us eight weeks, and you’ll not only be able to do all of these things, you’ll be able to flaunt it all ON STAGE in a SHOW. In front of PEOPLE.

How? By using the same kind of two-person improvised scene work we use in our own shows.  We’ll show you all the tricks. Trust us, we’re doctors! (Well, we HAVE played them on stage at times…)  You can do this. You WANT to do this. Whether you’re brand spanking new to improv, coming back to it after finding your way back home,  or you’re a grizzled old improv veteran looking to rekindle his passion, this class is for you.

Meet your teacher : Jeff Ash

Jeff is the owner and Artistic Director of Westside Improv Studio. Jeff is an alumnus of The Second City, Hollywood, and has performed and taught improvisation all over the U.S..

The host of TEDx Naperville in 2016 & 2017, Jeff also performed at the 2017 event with his team Rad Uncle.  On top of teaching the Intro to Improv class at Westside, Jeff also coaches several teams and teaches sketch writing.
