About the Course
So you’ve mastered the basics of improvised song-ineering in Musical Improv Level 1 - what’s next? Musical Improv Level 2, of course! Building on the foundations of melody, rhythm, and rhyme from the first class, Level 2 dives deeper into song structure and harmony. Explore narrative forms with common musical theater characters and tropes. Sing together with classmates to dive deeper into musical initiations, dynamic duets, layering, and even walk-ons. Tackle complicated rhyme schemes and learn to contribute musically from the sidelines. After eight weeks of rehearsing together, show what you’ve learned in not one, but TWO improvised musical shows. Rhythm. Music. Who could ask for anything more?
Prerequisite: Musical Improv Level 1
Attendance requirement for performing in show: no more than two missed classes.
PLEASE NOTE: this class is for “adults” ages 18 and over.
This class is being taught by Sally Hepler and Josh Hepler.
