Caitlyn Gunst
Caitlyn’s unconventional improv journey began at Westside in 2019 with Level 1 Musical Improv. She had the singing skills, but quickly learned that this class wouldn’t teach her the basic skills of the improv. When the pandemic shut down her regular level 1 class halfway through, she figured that was the end of improv for her. However, when classes reopened in January 2022, she took up level 1 again and was hooked. She took all the classes she could, including Musical 2 & Two-Prov, before finally landing in Player’s Workshop in April 2024 and performing as often as mom-ing allowed.
As a mostly-at-home mom to 2 young girls, improv keeps Caitlyn sane and gives her the chance to play regularly (& appropriately) with other adults. As a marriage & family therapist, she loves how improv fosters connection, listening, exploration, and co-creation. She is so thankful to be a part of the Westside community.
